📄 Divination Host — Role Description

What is Divination Roundtable?

Divination Roundtable is a free, open-house style networking and practice event held twice a month at Weavers of the Web. It runs for three hours and is open to anyone who wants to come learn, practice, and connect with other readers. No money changes hands, but this is not a free reading service. It's a space for people to experiment with new tools, build skills, and have serious conversations about divination with others in the practice.

What does a Divination Host do?

Your job is to show up, be present, and engage. You're not teaching a class or running a structure program; you're holding space for an informal gathering. That means:

  • Being available to talk about your practice and the tools you work with
  • Welcoming newcomers and helping them feel comfortable
  • Keeping the energy flowing if things get quiet (start a conversation, share something you've been exploring, or invite others to do the same)
  • Gently redirecting if anyone misunderstands the event as a free reading service

What we're looking for in a Host

You should be reasonable proficient with at least one divination tool: Tarot, runes, pendulum, oracle cards, scrying, whatever your thing is. You don't need to have anything memorized or be able to work without references. You just need to know enough to hold a conversation about your practice, and be comfortable engaging with whoever walks through the door.

Friendliness and willingness to interact are essential. This event lives or dies on the host's energy.

What to bring

Bring your own tools, whatever you work with and feel comfortable talking about. Weavers provides sample Tarot decks and runes for guests to explore, as well as the whole library of reference books, so you don't need to cover every system, just your own.

The space

Events are held in the Library at Weavers of the Web (unless otherwise noted in the task description). Expect 1-2 tables and standard workshop seating, comfortable and low-key.

Attendance

Attendance varies. When the event is running consistently and fully staffed, you can expect 5-10 people each night. If you're hosting a newly-relaunched or less-publicized date, it may be quieter. (Don't forget to share the event with your friends to boost attendance!) Please plan to stay the full three hours, regardless of turnout; this is a drop-in event, and guests can arrive at any point during the window.

Logistics

  • Events are 3 hours
  • Solo hosting, although friends/partners are welcome to join in
  • Twice monthly (when fully staffed)
  • No preparation required beyond showing up ready to engage
  • A check-in process for guests is coming soon; details will be communicated when it's in place.

Day-of issues

If you're running late, have an emergency, or need to cancel, contact Solinox directly as soon as possible.
