Volunteering at Weavers of the Web
We have many ways for folks to be part of the circle here at Weavers, and more are coming online every day. The best place to start is at the beginning. If you don't see something here that works for you, or if you have an idea of how you'd like to contribute, come talk to Solinox and we'll figure it out together. There is a place here for you whether you want to carry incense or call a quarter.
Different opportunities have different requirements before you can take them on; every role has a certain minimum event attendance requirement to make sure you are familiar with us. Once you've indicated interest in a role and been certified for it by our staff, you'll be able to see those opportunities in your Projects and Tasks lists on your account home page.
Property Maintenance
Our top need in the light half of the year is regular maintenance on our Jolly Road property. We have a mower stored on the property, and need somebody each week to refill the gas can and mow the grass. Gardening opportunities may open up down the road as the property develops and/or folks show interest.

Community and Social Events
We aim to offer a full calendar of opportunities for the local Weavers community to get together: to share knowledge, company and time; and to provide environmental and mutual aid services to the larger community. Before we can put any event on our calendar, we need to make sure somebody is able to be here and hold the space.
For most events, this just means showing up and being friendly; some require additional skills. If there's something you'd like to see us doing as a community that you don't see on this list or on our calendar, reach out and let us know!
Game Host
Hosts monthly game night. Keep it fun, keep it inclusive, make sure everybody gets a seat.

Crafty Host
Leads Crafty Vibes, our regular crafting social. Just bring your creativity and be ready to hold friendly space for people to make things together.

Divination Host
Leads Divination Roundtable events, facilitating a space for community members to practice readings and share knowledge and tips.
Shield Wall Path: SEER / Lammas (reading at community events); progress toward DIVINER
Training includes: at least one divination method personally used, basic social skills, minimum event attendance
Family Host
Leads playgroups, assists with Kids Night Out, and could also serve as scout leaders for qualifying households. Family Hosts hold space for our family-oriented community gatherings.

Training includes: Background check and Youth Protection Training (YPT). The $20 fee covers the cost of processing.
Work Day Host
Runs Trash Cleanup events (first of the month) and Green Man Day events (second Sundays). Coordinates volunteers, manages the work plan for the day, and makes sure everything gets done safely.

Weaving the Web / Wheel of the Year
These are our regular Wednesday night meetings. Setup begins around 5:30pm. Our call starts at 6pm, and we go live at 6:30pm until about 8pm.
Setup and Tear Down
Sets up and takes down tables and chairs, as well as performing janitorial duties at tear down.

Tech Witch (discussion nights)
A lighter version of the Ritual Tech Witch role. For discussion nights, the Tech Witch shares opening and closing videos, manages the stream to YouTube and the spotlights, and passes comments from YouTube to the Discussion Lead as needed.
Requires basic comfort and familiarity with tech and streaming setups.

Training includes: Specific technical instruction on equipment and software.
Devotional Lead
Delivers the Charge and leads the devotional through accomplishments, gratitudes, and intentions as well as the Witch's Rune.
This job requires basic light invocation skills as well as memorization of at least one Charge (God, Goddess, or Sacred Between) and the Witch's Rune.
Shield Wall Path:
- VOICE / Lammas (memorize & recite the Charge; identify 2 mysteries)
- VOICE / Mabon (perform a devotional invocation in a group, observed by clergy)
Training includes: Memorization of Weavers' Charge, training in light invocation and leading group devotional
Discussion Lead
Acts as the facilitator for our Wednesday night discussion groups.
Every topic in our discussion series is directly connected to a single Shield Wall badge. Discussion Leads should have the badge for the discussion they are leading so they have enough knowledge about the topic to share information and guide the discussion.

Ritual Support and Ceremonial Roles (Sabbats, Esbats, and more)
Our Sabbat rituals occur 8 times a year on Saturdays, and are generally an all-day affair with activities, workshops, ritual, and feasting. Our Esbat rituals occur whenever a quarter moon falls on a Wednesday, and run on the same schedule as our regular Wednesday night discussions.
Ritual Setup and Tear Down
Helps set up and break down the ritual space before and after each event.
For light-half Sabbats, this includes unloading the trailer and hauling everything down the hill, setting up for the day, and after the event packing everything up and hauling it back to the trailer.
For in-store rituals, this includes setting up and putting away chairs and tables as well as performing decorating and janitorial services.

Altar Tender
Sets up and decorates the main altar at rituals.
Our altars are generally set up in a Wiccan style, but every ritual has its own unique energies and requirements. This role begins with the basics of statuary, tools, and offerings, but also includes an understanding of the seasons and cycles and energies involved, so that you can embellish the altar and make it inviting, welcoming, and even inspiring!
Shield Wall Path: PRODUCER / Ostara
Training includes: Tradition's directional system and elemental correspondences, tool and offering placement, seasonal altar dressing. Assist with setup for at least 2 events.
Fire Tender
Manages and tends the sacred fire during outdoor rituals and fire ceremonies.
Shield Wall Path: FIRE KEEPER / Litha
Training includes: Building and tending a sacred fire under supervision for at least 1 hour; demonstrating fire extinguisher use
Quarter Caller
Calls in one or more of the elements at the beginning of ritual, and releases them at the end of ritual.
Weavers rituals run in a Wiccan ceremonial format, with four elements called in to each ritual: Earth (East), Fire (South), Water (West), and Air (North). This role combines speaking and energetics, and requires memorization of our incantations and getting certified with one of our clergy.
Shield Wall Path: VOICE / Ostara
Training includes: Weavers directional mapping, quarter call incantations and motions, energetics of calling quarters. Demonstrated mastery of all four quarter calls for a clergy observer required.
Photographer
Captures photos and video of rituals and events for Weavers archives and social media.

Training includes: background check, minimum attendance, skills for good photography, some kind of training on consent and gossip-craft
Feast Coordinator
Coordinates the ritual feasting at Sabbat rituals, including planning and preparing/delegating the main Weaver's feast (low-histamine, balanced nutrition, no seasoning), setting up the food service, and making sure potluck donations are labeled for ingredients.

Raffle Coordinator
Collect raffle donations as they come in for events, set up the raffle table to be an eye-catching and easy-to-navigate display, collect money and sell tickets, and be the MC for the raffle drawing at the end of the evening.

Ritual Maiden
Sweeps the circle at the beginning of ritual to energetically cleanse and prepare the space. This role combines speaking and energetics, and requires memorization of our incantations and getting certified with one of our clergy.

Ritual Tech Witch
The Tech Witch is our connection between the in-person world and the online world. They are the lifeline for our online-only folks, running our A/V, streaming connections, and recordings, as well as handling interaction in the Zoom calls and forwarding any questions or comments to the Ritual Priest/x/ess.
This job requires a high level of comfort and competency with sound equipment, computers, and streaming setups, including handling multiple camera and microphone angles and inputs.

Deity Vessel
Holds and channel the energy and messages of a specific Deity during shrine experiences and psychodrama rituals.
Being a good vessel for deity requires a combination of training and relaxation. Deity vessels are expected to study and do devotional work with their deities for 4-6 weeks prior to an invocation role. Some invocations may require specific lifestyle practices or dietary changes.
All deity roles require enough skill and understanding to make sure all of our attendees have a healthy experience connecting with the divine. With great power comes great responsibility.

Training includes: Basics of meditation, basics of energy and spirit work, basic invocation work, deity research and discernment skills, basic safe ministry guidelines.
Ritual Priest/x/ess
Runs the ritual. The Ritual Priest/x/ess has spent six weeks leading up to the ritual in preparation. They have drafting, reviewed, and finalized the ritual script; made sure all of the ritual roles have been filled; made sure all of the needed supplies are available; and helped with getting the word out. On the day of the ritual, they are the ones leading the ritual, casting the circle and calling in deity.
These roles are only available to 1° Initiates of Weavers of the Web, people who are personal students of Lord Solinox and have generally made it to at least their Junior year of seminary at WSTS. For more information on this path, reach out to Lord Solinox.
