What does a Quarter Caller do?
Quarter Callers are in charge of calling in and releasing the elementals and their energies at the four quarters of the ritual circle. That means:
- Helping set up any quarter altars before the ritual
- Calling in your quarter with the Weavers incantation, motions, and energetics
- Holding the energy of your quarter during the ritual
- Releasing the energy of your quarter with the Weavers incantation, motions, and energetics
- Help tear down any quarters altars after the ritual
What we're looking for in a Quarter Caller
You must have memorized the Weavers quarter calls and releases, as well as the motions and energetics that accompany them. You should be able to speak clearly; if you cannot project across the ritual circle well enough to be heard, you should be comfortable using amplification.
What to bring
You should bring your own athame, if you have one, as well as your Spellcraft badge showing you are a certified Quarter Caller. If you are an initiate, you should wear your ritual robes.
The space
Events are generally held at Weavers of the Web's physical space on Center Street or at the Fenner Center's scout campground (unless otherwise noted in the task description).
Attendance
Expect 20-50 attendees at most rituals.
Logistics
- Quarters can be called standing or seated, but they must be commanded.
- Quarter callers may be called upon to fulfill other duties during the ritual itself.
- Make sure to coordinate with clergy about the details for each event
- A check-in process for guests is coming soon; details will be communicated when it's in place.
Day-of issues
