What does a Raffle Coordinator do?
The Raffle Coordinator is responsible for making sure the community is able to financially support our events. This includes:
- Check on our current supply of raffle item donations prior to the event, and collecting items to raffle off
- Set up the raffle table or shelf at the event, providing attractive bundles and a clear ticket cup for each item or bundle
- Selling raffle tickets during the event, including cash and online purchases
- Being the MC of the raffle itself, and either handing out the prizes or conscripting volunteer runners
- Cleaning up after the raffle, storing reusable items and unraffled prizes for next time
What we're looking for in a Raffle Coordinator
You must pass a background check ($20 fee). You should be comfortable handling money and potentially valuable items. You should be able to speak loudly (or be comfortable amplified), and you should be comfortable joking around and generally being entertaining during the raffle itself (before and after is optional).
What to bring
Weavers provides all of the supplies needed to run the raffle.
The space
Events are generally held at Weavers of the Web's physical space on Center Street or at the Fenner Center's scout campground (unless otherwise noted in the task description).
Attendance
Expect 20-50 attendees at most events. Raffle participation and revenue varies drastically; your help in creating an attractive setup and entertaining the attendees helps make the difference.
Logistics
- This job can be done standing or seated.
- You don't have to like people, but you gotta like talking to them. At them. Whatever.
- Make sure to coordinate with clergy about the details for each event
- A check-in process for guests is coming soon; details will be communicated when it's in place.
Day-of issues
