At Litha, we tell Skaði's story. Her father Thjazi dies at the walls of Asgard, and she arrives at unfamiliar gates with nothing left to her name but a bow. Through grief, honor, and a laugh she didn't think was possible, she finds a new family.
Litha is the height of the summer sun, the longest day, the peak before the turn. This is when the light shines brightest on what we've built: the babies born this past year, the folks stepping into their own authority, and all of us choosing what to carry into the harvest and what to let burn.

The heart of the day
Rites of Passage
For young people stepping into adulthood, or those who wish to declare their commitment to the Weavers community. Each candidate faces four challenges from the gods at the quarters and is welcome into the community by their chosen name.
Rites of Passage candidates should arrive early for training.
Blessing of the Babies
For little ones born or welcomed into their families this past year. Parents make vows of love, protection, and education before the gods, and the new soul is blessed by the four quarters and the gods.
If you have a young (or old) person ready for their Rite of Passage, or a baby to be blessed, contact Lord Solinox in advance so we can plan with you. Both ceremonies are free gifts to our community.
Leaving the old behind
Litha is when we all grow up.
Skaði arrives as a grieving daughter and a stranger, unrecognized, and she transforms by giving up that old identity and taking on a new one.
So does everyone going through a Rite of Passage. Even if you are not participating in the formal challenge, what challenges are in your life at this time? What masks are you wearing?
We'll have a mask-making craft table set up from early afternoon onward for you to make your own representation of the self you are leaving behind.

Three ways to join
Public ritual means you get to choose how you show up.
In Person
Come spend the day with us at the campground. Gates open at 1pm with workshops, mask-making crafts, and time to settle in before ritual. Family-friendly, dog-friendly (well-behaved & leashed), and unhurried.
How else are you going to pet our animal companions?
Zoom
Like being in the circle with us. Opens an hour before circle and stays open until the last person leaves. You'll be in circle, able to respond to calls and cast your own wishes from home. For people who want to be part of the ritual. Zoom link sent via email after registration.
YouTube
Goes live when ritual starts, ends when circle is released. No camera or participation expected (comments are shared live during ritual). Safer if you don't want to be perceived.
Getting around the campground
The ritual space is in a grassy clearing with a recessed fire pit. It is a short walk (~250 yds) from the parking lot on uneven gravel and packed dirt. We have plenty of shade and water. The bathroom on-site is a pit toilet. No seating is provided outside of the picnic tables. If you have specific accessibility needs we should know about in advance, please reach out and we'll get it sorted before ritual time.
What to bring
Your own seating
Chairs or blankets, bring what works for you for a day outside.
Sunscreen, bug spray, hat
Don't be the one glowing like the sun the day after!
Water bottle
We'll have tea and water and Gatorade, but do bring a bottle!
Picnic lunch
Feast isn't until after ritual, so make sure and bring something to graze on beforehand.
Food for the feast
Optional, but appreciated (and fun!). Weavers provides a basic hypoallergenic meal. The community brings the rest!
Comfortable clothing
Yes, some folks go all-out dressing up for ritual day, but please remember we'll be outside in the sun!
Litha foods that hit the spot: strawberries, raspberries, early summer squash, fresh greens, mint, anything red or yellow that reminds you of the sun. Ingredient label cards available on-site.
If you're joining via Zoom or YouTube...
A small altar wherever you'll be helps you drop into the energy. Candles, god/dess images, your favorite tools, snacks and drink for grounding, whatever feels right for you. It's optional, and it doesn't need to be perfect, just helpful.

Our rituals are always free to attend. Donations help us cover the cost of renting the campground and ritual supplies, and help build the Temple Fund and support the long game.
