Autumn Equinox / Death

I will let go of fear and walk forward into the unknown.

About this Oath

What comes to life must return to the grave eventually, and at this sabbat we cross back into the dark half of the year together. This "Little Death" gives us an opportunity to reckon our personal harvest for the year, let go of what needs to fall away, and continue living in the face of the certain losses we will face along the path. Loss is inevitable, but so is life!

In this Oath lies the echoes of our Litha Oath. Only this time, instead of facing a great challenge, we face the uncertainty of a single step, one that we nevertheless cannot avoid.

Memento mori.

For me, this Oath is the spirit of standing with my head held high, knowing that I made the best choices that I could with the resources and knowledge I had available, and accepting the lessons that are coming home with the harvest.
