Samhain
Final Harvest / Ancestors
I will remember those who would have been forgotten.
About this Oath
That which is remembered, lives. Samhain is our chance to reconnect with the dead and lost. At Weavers, we always include altars and special recognition for veterans, animals, and our Chosen Ancestors of heart and mind. And when we remember them, they are never forgotten. Community means nobody gets left behind or forgotten.
While Beltaine asks us to look forward with hearts and minds open, Samhain asks us to look again for what we've overlooked. As we remember our Beloved Dead, we also ask ourselves who has been unintentionally left out, and what lessons we can learn from where we missed our ideals.
What it means to us
Read what our community says about this oath
We say, "those who would have been forgotten," because now that we are promising to remember them, they won't be.
